Embarking on a journey to guide you in shaping a well-rounded dog, our comprehensive approach goes beyond basic training. We’re dedicated to instilling balance, good behavior, and a harmonious relationship between you and your canine companion.
At Canine Composure, we offer private lessons for the pet parents who want to learn right along side their dog. Once a week, I come directly to you and spend about an hour with you and your pup. At the beginning of each lesson, we do a quick review of what was learned in the previous week and we answer any questions you may have.
Our day training programs are designed to help dogs build confidence, calm, and connection in everyday life. Your dog will work one-on-one with a Raegan each day, learning essential skills like sit, come, place, loose leash walking, crate manners, and more—all while practicing in real-world settings like parks, cafés, trails, and busy public spaces.
The Canine Composure Collective gives you access to her knowledge and experience as well other dog owners who are also working with their dogs. You’ll find courses on how to train your dog on your own at home, helpful lifestyle tips and guides (some about dogs and some not!), and a space for discussions and support.
At Canine Composure, we believe that every dog has the ability to feel calm, confident, and connected—it just takes the right kind of support.
Our training is rooted in relationship, trust, and clear communication. Through personalized sessions, I help you and your dog build a strong foundation that goes beyond obedience, creating a deeper sense of understanding and ease in your daily life together.
You’ll be equipped with the tools, knowledge, and support you need to feel confident as your dog learns, and I’ll make sure you’re growing right alongside them. I place a strong emphasis on relationship-building, because lasting change starts with trust. Together we’ll give you and your dog a more fulfilling lifestyle.

I always knew that I would be working with dogs in one way or another. My passion started in middle school with my own pet sitting business.
That eventually evolved into a job at a humane society, and then into the opportunity to manage a dog daycare in the Charlotte area. After that, I began pet sitting and dog walking again, and I quickly noticed that there was a need for someone who could teach pet owners how to happily coexist with their dog.
This realization led me to Highland School for Dog Trainers, where I graduated in February 2022.
Our experience with Raegan was awesome! She has really taken her time with us and helped us answer so many questions and concerns! I would definitely recommend her to anyone who has a new dog or needs help with a dog! I wish we could continue with her because she has changed our puppy for the better and he loves working with her! Thank you so much!
Raegan did a fantastic job helping me train my dog Ollie. My dog has a lot of energy, and while sweet she could be a lot to handle. Raegan’s training helped tremendously, and now our dog is much better behaved-she listens much better now and is so much easier to walk. Highly recommend her!
After having a very poor experience with a prior trainer, working with Raegan was an absolute breath of fresh air. Our boy loved her and we love what she taught him (and us!). She was always timely, patient, caring and thorough. Her video recaps are awesome and kept us looped in until it was time for us to take the ropes. We now have a dapper little dude on our hands and he’s so proud of himself! What a positive experience!
Raegan started training our two puppies at 5 months. She was very patient with them even though they were wild and a little crazy. We did the 8 week training and had our family training the past three days. They are totally different puppies and we are so pleased with how they responded to her training. We would highly recommend her to anyone needing help and guidance with their fur babies. Her communication with all that she is doing is top notch.
Private lessons are me teaching you and your dog at the same time. We meet once a week for six or eight weeks and you are required to be at each lesson.
In home training is me teaching your dog for a couple of weeks and then teaching you how to keep up with the training in the last three sessions. Sessions are held Monday-Thursday for four or six weeks. Friday’s lesson is held with you and I teach you what your dog has learned that week.
Private and In-home lessons are mostly held in your home and around the neighborhood. If your pup would benefit from training in environments other than your home, then we will set that up within the program.
Yes! I believe that every dog is different when it comes to training. Luckily, I was taught many different ways to teach a dog. The tools I use and give you will depend on the goals you have and the needs of your dog. I make sure that you are comfortable and knowledgeable with the tools before moving on to anything else. When used properly, training tools can be a great way to work with your dog.
Yes! I graduated from Highland Canine School for Dog Trainers in February of 2022. The program I completed consisted of Behavior Modification and Basic/Advanced Obedience. We had classroom sessions and worked hands on with multiple types of dogs. I have also attended workshops hosted by other trainers and I make it a point to continue learning.
I am based in Charlotte, NC. I serve the south Charlotte area (Ballantyne, SouthPark, Pineville, Blakney & Matthews). The first 15 miles (one way) are included in your package. Anything outside of the 15 miles will incure a mileage fee of 50 cents/mile
Lifetime support means that once you complete a program with me and continue to keep up with the dogs’ training, I will come back for any touch up lessons for the life of the dog. Any new behaviors that arise will require a new package or a la carte sessions at full price.
We require that dogs are at least 5 months old before we begin working with them. Any dog under 5 months of age is eligible for the New Puppy Session.
Canine Composure Family Dog Training offers lifetime support for you and your dog. If you are keeping up with training, we will continue to help out with any maintenance for the lifetime of the pet.
We go beyond mere command training; our approach nurtures connections founded on trust, respect, and enduring companionship.
